Royal Foundry with Harehound

  • Long Day's Night 11th Ave SW & Marston Street Swift Current, Sk S9H 5M6 Canada (map)
Anchored by Jared Salte and Beth Schumacher, The Royal Foundry is a musical bullet train. With Indie rock songs like "Listen to the beat" and "okay?" tearing up the radio charts to their pop driven "All We Have" and "Dreamers" being used by Disney, MTV, and the NHL, their live performances go beyond energetic; it's enveloping and electric and has led them to share the stage with the likes of Twenty One Pilots, July Talk, The Strumbellas, and many more.
Both Jared and Bethany were born and raised amongst the beautiful Prairie-Skies of Alberta, Canada. Bethany was the preacher’s daughter who developed a love for the visual arts. Jared on the other hand grew up surrounded by music as the son of a Touring-Rock-Musician. They quickly formed through a musical and literal marriage. Jared and Bethany Salte had no intentions of starting the Electro-Folk-Pop trio that is now The Royal Foundry; But after the release of “All We Have” received international exposure through the John Lennon Songwriting Competition and ABC’s Rookie Blue they knew they had discovered something special.
Their music has been featured on NPR, BBC, CBC, and over the course of their genre-bending journey they have amassed nearly 4 million streams on Spotify alone. The band has gone on to win numerous awards, have chart topping singles, and tour extensively in North America. The Royal Foundry has shown no signs of slowing down with the release of their latest album "Little High Little Low" (2022). The Royal Foundry is a driving force in the indie alt-rock scene. Their latest single has skyrocketed up the charts, beating out major label artists in the Canadian Top 20 Alt-Rock and garnered them millions of streams.
This new direction pulls them away from their folk roots and is the sort of music you might expect if Mutemath crashed a tea party with Coldplay and The Civil Wars. Their list of accolades reads like the list of a band that’s been together for at least a decade. It’s hard to imagine that this has happened in a few short years.
Get ready to boogie on this Friday, June 23rd at Long Day's Night! Tickets are $37 and available at Swift Current Pharmasave or eventbrite.com.
Opening for Royal Foundry is Red Deer, Alberta’s Harehound. Rebecca Raabis has been writing and performing for over 10 years and has made some major milestones, such as having songs on Netflix (Ben’s at Home), opening for Marianas Trench, and having a song appear on Toronto's TV series "Rookie Blue”. She has played shows across mid and western Canada including Toronto’s “Honey Jam” and Canadian Music Week.
The band consists of members Rebecca Raabis (lead vocals, bass) Colin Langstraat (drums, backing vocals), and Craig Gomez (guitar) - who are no strangers to the music scene.
Their debut single “Claws” sets the standard for the synth rock powerhouse sound that the band strives for. Lyrically, Claws addresses the idea of reaching for a seemingly possible goal and not letting anything get in your way - in this case, the personification about the roadblocks in creating music.
Harehound’s debut EP is set to be released in the summer of 2023. Their mix of alt pop and punk rock influences makes for a hard hitting, catchy sonic attack that is sure to make you proudly dance your night away.
