Winterruption Swift Current 2026 is set to kick off February 26th, 2026 with the return of Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar. A powerhouse band and vocals that will shake the foundations, this is a show not to miss. Their funky, deeply soulful grooves will keep us bopping all night long. Opening the night will be Alberta’s Marcus Trummer, a young blood with an old soul. Trummer marries modern sensibilities with tradition with his distinctive blues, R&B, soul, and roots rock. This show is a fundraiser for Long Day’s Night Music Festival 2026.

Samantha martin & Delta Sugar

The first single from Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar’s stunning new album, The Reckless One, is a four-on-floor stomping dance track entitled “Don’t Have To Be.” Sporting a melody that will have listeners singing along, the track features swirling Booker T-inspired organ, a swaggering horn line and Samantha Martin’s trademark hurricane-force vocals. Irresistibly catchy, the song has been filling dance floors every night since she started performing it.

Martin is the lead singer, songwriter and focal point of the group. A dynamic front woman, she possesses a stunning voice that is capable of summoning up tidal waves of spine-tingling emotion in one instance while delicately bringing out the nuances of a gut-wrenching lyric in the next. A torrid force of nature, night after night she takes audiences to emotional peaks while leaving them stunned with her sheer pin-you-against-the-wall power.

While Martin is a powerhouse unto herself, the vocal alchemy of Delta Sugaris not the work of a single talent. In combination with what she likes to term her “co-vocalists,” the vocal blend that Delta Sugar produces is pure, unadulterated gospel-tinged, neuron-tingling magic where the sum is even richer than the already soul-melting parts.

A young blood with an old soul, Marcus Trummer marries modern sensibilities with tradition in his distinctive style that encompasses blues, R&B, soul, and roots rock. Dubbed “a precocious guitarist whose vocals possess a wise-beyond-his-years weariness” by the Calgary Herald, the Calgary-born artist is already earning recognition. In 2022, he snagged a nomination for "New Artist of the Year" at Canada’s Maple Blues Awards. The following year Trummer won the 2023 Telluride Blues Challenge, and would go on to make his US performance debut at Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in 2024. Trummer recently received a nomination for the 2025 Western Canadian Music Awards “Blues Artist of the Year”.

Marcus Trummer’s debut album, “From The Start”, draws inspiration from the timeless sounds of the 60s and 70s. With his warm and emotive vocals, Trummer pays respect to classic soul singers like Bill Withers and Marvin Gaye. His expressive guitar work channels the impassioned approach of players like B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix. Packed with raw emotion and honesty, Trummer’s songwriting is not to be overlooked. His thoughtful lyrics examine universal subjects of love and coming of age, unpacking experiences that resonate with all listeners.
