It’s true that in Quebec, Lisa LeBlanc is already a known quantity. She toured in Canada, France, Belgium and Switzerland and received critical acclaim for her work including the exceptional honour of the Prix Felix at the Adisq awards in Quebec for being the Discovery of the Year as well as Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. She was awarded prizes in France and Belgium and was nominated for a Juno Award in the Francophone Album of the Year.

Her music is an Americana sound infused with the spirit of the Maritimes. She is known for her enthusiastic “Trash folk” performances. With her always is her energy, her love for life, her charisma, her sincerity and, of course, her beautiful voice and music.

At 26 years old, the captivating Montreal singer-guitarist-banjo player’s ability to compose rousing, heart-wrenching tales of love, friendship and heartbreak has been compared to the sharp wit of Courtney Barnett, the rambling honesty of Bob Dylan and the high-flying sincerity of Dolly Parton.  Her music contains Appalachian banjo, traditional cajun songs and guitars, bluegrass flatpicking, as well as hints of rock, folk, blues, classic rock, spaghetti western and even some hawaiian music.

Montreal duo, Les Deuxluxes bring a unique and refreshing dose of vintage surf rock. They create a flawless and modern take of the surf rock of the early 1960’s but it comes across as fresh due to its modern song writing techniques, production, and tendency to avoid clichés.  Due to this juxtaposition of new and old, Les Deuxluxes, is a treasure which defies time to be one of the most innovative bands ever.

Tickets for the Saturday, September 30 show are $35 and are available at Pharmasave. Doors at the Lyric Theatre will open at 7:30pm and the music will begin at 8:30pm.
